Key manufacturing requirements

Confirm these points on the drawing and purchase specification.

  • Body and portsIdentify the supplied body, cover and port geometry, including internal dividers and core openings.
  • Seats and sealingLocate seats, stem axes and cover joints from functional datums; specify sealing-face finish.
  • Threads and flangesConfirm thread system, engagement, flange dimensions and gasket interfaces on the controlled drawing.
  • Material and serviceState the medium, temperature and pressure, then agree the grade, specification and supply condition.
  • Acceptance and testingDefine material and dimensional checks; specify any leak or pressure test and its acceptance criteria.

Questions

Questions from OEM teams

Do you need the complete valve assembly model?

The component drawing is essential. The assembly model is useful when seat alignment, stem clearance or access cannot be understood from the component drawing alone.

Does a material grade determine the pressure rating?

The pressure rating also depends on the design, applicable code, temperature and validation requirements. It is not assigned from the alloy name alone.
